The Hotel La Vie en Rose is located on the Plan de Corones (2200m above sea level and dominating the High Pusteria Valley) at an altitude of 1820 metres. We are within the council of Valdaora between Brunico and Dobbiaco where the Anterselva valley stretches and the Dolomites' peaks crown the forest. Mountaineers during Summer and skiers in the Winter relax in the tranquility of unspoiled nature right on the edge of Fannes, Sennes and Braies parks and the Dolomites of Sesto, not far from Bressanone, Cortina, Corvara.

French marquis Déodate Guy S. T. de Dolomieu (born in Dolomieu, near Grenoble) visited the South Tyrol and its extraordinary rocky mountains for the first time in the Summer of 1788. On that occasion he collected samples of rocks from the local mountains. With the help of his friend, Nicolas Theodore de Sassaure - a chemist and botanist, the marquis discovered that the mountains where composed of not only calcium carbonate but also a double calcium salt and magnesium. This discovery led the rock to be named after de Dolomieu. The rocky mountains appear rose-tinted in the sunset. LA VIE EN ROSE’s guests can admire these spectacular views every day from their rooms.
During the Roman empire, the Pusteria Valley (with its Alemagna's Road) was the connection between the Claudia Augusta Altinate Road and Agumtum (Lienz). The valley was Austrian until the end of the first World War and both Austrian and Latin traditions of the past are still present in the modern days. Brunico is the council town of all of the Valley. It was founded as a fortified area to support Bressanone. The town was named after its founder, Vescov Bruno (1250-1288). The main road and the castle (built between 1251 and 1256 - later extended) represent the historic center. A beautiful ethnic museum is located near Tedone around the Mair am Hof.
